Die-Requisition

A die is a specialized tool that is used to create the desired shape of the extruded aluminium profile.

The die requisition process involves creating a request for a new die or modifying an existing one to match the specific requirements of a customer order.

This process requires close collaboration between the design team, production team, and the customer to ensure that the die meets all required specifications.

Billet Requisition

The billet requisition process involves ordering the required amount and size of aluminium billets, considering the extruded profile dimensions and available stock sizes, as they serve as the raw material for the extrusion process.

Planning for Production

A detailed production plan must be created to ensure that the extrusion process runs smoothly and efficiently. This plan includes determining the sequence of operations, scheduling machine time, allocating resources, and setting production targets. Effective planning is crucial for meeting customer deadlines and minimizing production costs.

Log Sheet

A log sheet is a record of the extrusion process, which includes information such as the date and time of the production run, the size and type of the extruded profile, the machine settings, and any issues that arose during production. This information is used to monitor quality control and improve production processes.

Floor Billet Stock

The extrusion process requires a steady supply of billets, which are stored on the factory floor in a designated area known as the floor billet stock. This area must be well-organized and easily accessible to ensure that billets can be quickly and efficiently loaded into the extrusion machines.

Die Register

The die register is a database that contains information about each die used in the extrusion process, including its dimensions, design specifications, and maintenance history. This information is critical for ensuring that each die is properly maintained and used only for the profiles it was designed to create. It also helps to track the die's life-cycle and its replacement.
